These flowers come from a Co Op in central Thailand that primarily employs women, many of them elderly. They compile flowers from over 100 micro-farms (multi-culture agriculture), where the flowers grow with no pesticides nor artificial fertilizers.
This tea is traditionally served with brown sugar and a few drops of lime, lemon, or kalamansi. The edible flowers will steep to a deep blue colour and change to bright purple when you add citrus.
Ingredients: Organic Butterfly Pea Flowers
Hot Tea:
Brew tea at 212º - Use 3-5 flowers per 8 oz. water. Allow boiling water to cool slightly, then pour over leaves. Steep 3 minutes.
Mason Jar Iced Tea:
Fill a mason jar with hot water. Steep 6-8 flowers for 15 minutes. Place it in the refrigerator until cold
Optional: Stir in sugar or honey while the tea is still warm so it dissolves easily
