Ground Cloves are often used to enhance the flavor of game, especially venison, wild boar and hare and are popular in Africa and the Middle East. They are also great for baked goods, commonly used in gingerbread cookies, pumpkin pie and apple tarts. They are used in a number of spice mixtures including Ras el Hanout, curry powders, pickling spices and for holiday mulled ciders and wines.
